Sunday night baseball turned into early Monday morning baseball as the Cardinals earned their second straight extra-inning walk-off win, a 4-3 victory over the Cubs as Dexter Fowler ended the game with a two-run homer that just snuck over the right field corner wall. Javier Baez had given the Cubs the lead in the top of the 14th with a solo shot. The Cardinals now welcome the Twins to Busch Stadium for a two-game series. Rookie Fernando Romero starts for the Twins against John Gant for the Cardinals, who is being activated for his first start of the season. Cards network pre-game on AM 1230 WJBC begins at 6:15.
The Cardinals learned that catcher Yadier Molina will likely miss four weeks after emergency surgery for a pelvic injury with traumatic hematoma. Molina was hit by a foul ball on Saturday.

The Twins scored all of their runs in the final three innings, including a three-run seventh, and beat the White Sox 5-3. James Shields did not receive a decision as the Sox wasted his perfect game into the sixth inning and no-hitter into the seventh. The Sox are off today before hosting the Pirates in a two-game series beginning Tuesday.

The women’s and men’s lacrosse squads have earned NCAA tournament bids thanks to their CCIW titles during the weekend. The Titan women will host Hamline on Sunday while the IWU men will face Denison on Wednesday in Granville, Ohio.
