The United Way of Livingston County held its annual Celebration dinner at the Pontiac Elks last week and those attending were given a lot of good news.
Executive Director Deb Howard shares the news.
“It went wonderful and we met our goal – $201,000. It was just amazing. My board works really hard. I have three things to say: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you to my board for everything they do. Thank you to the donors for every penny they donate. Thank you to the agencies that service over 8,000 people in our county,” Howard said.
Howard explains that just because this year’s fundraising goal was met, doesn’t mean work slows down.
“We’re always fundraising 24/7. It never stops. If we can get more money in the county, that’s a great thing to do. None of the agencies would say, ‘No, don’t give us that extra $200, Deb, that I didn’t ask for.’ So yeah, it never ends,” Howard said.
