County Board names new member, approves resolutions

The Livingston County Board met Thursday evening and appointed a new member to fill a recently vacated spot.

Board Chairman Bob Young explains that process.

“Linda Ambrose from District 3 was appointed to fill Justin Goembel’s slot. So, she’s now an official board member.  We’re pleased and happy to have her aboard. She’ll serve now until the November election, then she’ll be up for election. She won the primary election back in March,” Young said.

The board also made several resolutions.

“We’re always happy to recognize good things in Livingston County and the first was PTHS Unified Basketball Program, made up of young boys and girls and they won the state championship. I don’t know if there’s been a lot publicized, but it was a heck of an ordeal, so we were very proud. Doc Carley read that resolution. We recognized the Garage Squad, which many of you may remember. They’ve been in Livingston County more than once and they’ve been very active in the community, as far as working with school kids and their support of local businesses and helping people get old cars and trucks that mean something going again. Paul Ritter headed that up,” Young said.

Young was a guest on a recent Community Forum where he further details the meeting. That is available at WJEZ.com.
