If Governor Bruce Rauner signs Senate Bill 32-55, some medical professionals will have new opportunities opening up. The bill was sponsored in the Illinois House by State Representative Tom Bennett of Gibson City and it allows Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician’s Assistants to practice outside of a hospital environment. Under current Illinois law, practitioners in these and other fields can’t work with rural ambulance services or similar providers. The bill is now on Governor Bruce Rauner’s desk.
