PONTIAC – The Pointe at Pontiac is inviting community members to attend a summer outing this Saturday with games, prizes, and food.
Pointe at Pontiac Regional Marketing Director Peg Spear told WJEZ’s Todd Wineburner that this is the second year the Pointe has held a summer event at its location at 120 North Deerfield Road. Spear said last year saw a number of people come out to have some fun, so the Pointe employees wanted to hold the event again this year.
“Everybody is welcome. We had a terrific turnout last year. There will be hot dog and hamburger meals, those will be $1.50 or $2, and snow cones and popcorn for 50 cents, and we will also have some lemon shake-ups,” Spear explained. “There’s quite a variety of things going on with all the different kids games, like a bounce house, dunk tank, and then the petting zoo is really nice. There’s a nice variety of animals that come out.”
Spear noted the Pointe has held various events in the past like taking the residents to Starved Rock and White Fence Farm. She said they’ve always had a quarterly event for the residents, so the Pointe has made their summer event something or a tradition.
“This is kind of our summer event. We like to host this at the building so [residents] can have their families join them and their grandkids join them, and we might as well open it up for everybody so that’s what we do,” said Spear.
The event will take place this Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
