PONTIAC – The Better Business Bureau is reporting a phone scam going around the area.

The BBB says an individual has called local businesses claiming to be with Nicor Gas and tells the business there is a problem with their utility account. The number the individual is using is (815) 426-9115.

A representative from Nicor Gas has said that number is not affiliated with the company. They believe this may be part of a utility scheme.
