Commercial Development Continues for Reynolds Street Property

By Neil Doyle

The Pontiac City Council earlier this week approved a final plat of a subdivision to further the development of the Rittenhouse property on Reynolds Street in Pontiac.

The council waived the preliminary plat at its meeting Monday night, as they followed the city’s zoning board recommendation.  The subdivision where the construction will take place will be known as “William Paul’s Second Addition” in the 1000 block of West Reynolds Street.

The plat owner has stated the intention to build a mini-mall with one of the possible tenants being Jimmy John’s.

Residents of the area expressed concern with the possibility of traffic increases due to construction and new business customers.

You can hear more about the council’s action in an interview with Pontiac Mayor Bob Russell on the podcasts page of this website. Look for the link at the top of the homepage.
