Livingston County Health Department Health Education and Marketing Director Erin Fogarty reports that 954 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported from January through the 10th. During that same period one death was associated with the disease. Those figures leave the county with 869 active cases and 104 COVID-related deaths. Health department officials emphasize that these numbers may not represent all county infections because of the growing popularity of at-home tests. Only results from testing sites are sent to state officials. The department continues to encourage vaccination and conducts vaccination clinics on Mondays and Thursdays at their facility on Torrance Avenue in Pontiac.
