Illinois hosts North Carolina State tonight at 7 in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge at State Farm Center. In last night’s Challenge play, Northwestern beat Wake Forest and Minnesota lost to Florida State.

Illinois State has landed two players on the Missouri Valley Football Conference first team, senior center Mark Spelman and junior defensive back Davontae Harris. Eight Redbirds received post-season league honors.
Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan is out for the rest of the season with a ruptured right patellar tendon in his knee. He was injured in Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. Trevathan is the 15th Bear to go on injured reserve this season.
The Big Ten Conference has reprimanded Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh for his lengthy post-game gripe about the officiating after Saturday double-overtime loss to Ohio State. The conference fined the school $10,000 for the rant.
The CornBelters announced Jose Canseco will play in the Legends Game at the Corn Crib on July 29. The member of the Bash Brothers was the American League’s Most Valuable Player in 1988.
