The Livingston County Health Department is holding two wellness clinics on December 7 and 21.

Linda Rhodes, health education and marketing director for the department, explained why it’s important to visit a wellness clinic.

“It’s important people have annual wellness screenings done because there are many things going on inside of our body that has no outside appearances. A very good example of that is blood pressure. Until it’s very extreme, there are no symptoms, which is why high blood pressure is called the ‘silent killer.’ Also, we don’t know if our cholesterol is too high because we don’t really have any outward symptoms of that, so to have that checked every year is very important,” Rhodes said.
