The 86th annual Pontiac Holiday Tournament is starting soon, and details are emerging about the games.
Tournament Manager Jim Drengwitz was a guest on a recent Community Forum and detailed the event, which happens December 28-30 at Pontiac Township High School.
“Chicago Curie number one, Chicago Simeon number two, Joliet West number three and Bloomington number four. What people need to keep in mind is Curie won a state title last year, Simeon finished third in the state title, Joliet West made it to the Elite Eight in the state tournament, and Bloomington got to sectional finals, getting beat by Peoria Manual, who went on and got third place in 3A. It is, by far, the deepest field we’ve had being rated. We’re really excited and this should be another year of outstanding basketball,” Drengwitz said.
Season tickets are on sale at the high school for the 26-game tournament and tickets are also available at the door on game day.
