The registration deadline is quickly approaching for the Summer Safety Camp for Kids, which will be held at the Livingston County 4-H Park from 9 to 2:30 on Tuesday, June 9.
This event will teach children attending third through sixth grades in the fall a variety of safety pointers, from water safety when boating, fishing or swimming, safety around farm machinery and being safe around large and small animals.
Livingston County Farm Bureau Manager Jody Hughes said although the event is sponsored by a long list of agriculture-related entities, the safety courses will not center around farming alone.
“I think this is a great event. If we have beautiful weather, we’ll be out at the 4-H Park. A good day, if nothing else, just to get the kids outside,” Hughes said.
To register, visit livcfb.org or contact the Livingston County Farm Bureau at 815-842-1103 or the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation at 815-844-6127. Registration ends June 3 and is limited to the first 100 children.
