This year’s “Cops and Kids,” where children are paired with local police officers for a day of Christmas shopping, was a success, with more than 80 local children benefiting from the experience.
Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress explains.
“Nothing is as precious as having a child spend quality time with a uniformed police officer, especially at the impressionable ages that these children are. They will remember this for a lifetime and we want them to remember it. We also want them to have a good attitude about it, which is why we do it,” Childress said.
Childress urges people to donate to this cause, which can be done by calling the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department at 844-2774.
