Dwight defeated Pontiac 75-65 in boys high school basketball on Tuesday night. Blake Graham scored 27 points while Justin Fox added 22 for the Trojans.
In other boys regular season play, Mahomet-Seymour clinched a share of the Corn Belt Conference title with a come-from-behind 61-58 win over U-High. Prairie Central ddefeated Central Catholic 62-53, Flanagan-Cornell held off Roanoke-Benson 50-41, Lexington beat Woodland 68-57, Fieldcrest beat Eureka 42-38 and El Paso-Gridley defeated Dee-Mack 56-48.
In girls post-season basketball, Central Catholic moved into tomorrow’s Class 2A Sectional championship game at St. Thomas More in Champaign with a 56-52 triumph over Clifton Central. The Saints face Monticello.
Heyworth girls move into tomorrow night’s Class 1A Sectional final against Decatur St. Teresa in Lexington after last night’s 48-47 win over Danville Schlarman.
In Class 3A girls regional play, U-High knocked off host Washington 49-39 and Peoria Notre Dame eliminated Bloomington 65-53. In the Class 4A Regional at Champaign Centennial, Normal Community beat Danville 64-45 and Bradley Bourbonnais eliminated Normal West 60-44.
Illinois State men’s basketball has a midweek date in the Ozarks as they visit Missouri State tonight. Tip is later than usual with an 8:00 start.
Illinois Wesleyan men are at Wheaton tonight while the Titan women host Elmhurst. The Illini have the night off.
Evansville beat Drake 87-70 in the only Missouri Valley Conference action last night, while in the Big Ten, Purdue beat Rutgers 74-55, Michigan State surged past Ohio State 74-66 and Nebraska defeated Penn State 82-66. Tonight in the Big Ten, Number 21 Maryland is at Northwestern and Indiana visits Minnesota. In the Missouri Valley, Bradley travels to Northern Iowa, Wichita State is at Southern Illinois and Indiana State goes to Loyola.
The Bulls beat the Toronto Raptors 105-94 led by 20 points from Doug McDermott and 19 points and 12 assists from Jimmy Butler.

An MRI is scheduled for Cardinals right-hander Alex Reyes to check his sore elbow. He went 4-1 with a 1.57 ERA in five starts and seven relief appearances after making his big league debut in August and was a candidate to enter this year’s starting rotation.
