Illinois softball defeated visiting Illinois State 5-3. The Redbirds homered and put two runners in scoring position in the final inning, but the Illini held off the challenge.

Illinois State guard Paris Lee was named to the Associated Press All-American honorable mention squad. He is the 15th Redbird to earn All-American honors and the first since Tarise Bryson in 2001.
