Illinois visits Illinois State in the Redbirds’ annual “Stuff the Duff” game at Duffy Bass Field. First pitch is at 6 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan baseball visits North Park for a 5 p.m. game. The Titans visit Illinois State Wednesday afternoon for the annual Horenberger-Bass Classic.

The Cardinals lost the opener of a week-long road trip, 14-6 at Washington. The Nationals’ Bryce Harper collected four hits and reached base in all six plate appearances. The rematch is tonight in the nation’s capital, Lance Lynn against Gio Gonzalez.

The Cubs raised their championship banner, then won the home opener in dramatic fashion, a 3-2 victory over the Dodgers on an RBI single by Anthony Rizzo in the ninth inning. The Cubs take today off.

The White Sox were off on Monday and visit Cleveland this afternoon for the Indians’ home opener. James Shields starts for the Sox against the Indians’ Carlos Carrasco.

The Bulls destroyed the Orlando Magic 122-75.​
