ComEd and MCCA offering bill assistance

The Residential Special Hardship Fund, through the ComEd Cares program is partnering with Mid-Central Community Action to help people pay their electric bills.

Matt Dratt, director of resource development and community engagement with MCCA, said this program provides assistance to residents in Livingston County who are ComEd customers that qualify.

“What is different about this program verses other energy assistance programs we have in Livingston County through Mid-Central Community Action, is the income eligibility guidelines for a household are much higher, so people can have more income and still potentially be eligible for the assistance. In this particular case, it’s 250 percent of the poverty level, so for example, a family of four can make up to $61,500 and still be eligible to receive assistance through this program,” Dratt said.
