Illinois State baseball earned a come-from-behind win over visiting Milwaukee 8-7. The Redbirds scored three times in the ninth inning with the game-winner plating on a single by Owen Miller.
Illinois Wesleyan softball split a non-conference doubleheader at Illinois College, winning the opener and dropping the nightcap by the same 8-7 score.

Eureka swept the 108th McLean County Track Meet boys and girls titles for the Heart of Illinois Conference schools as the Hornets hosted the meet for the first time.
The Cardinals nipped the Brewers 2-1 behind seven strong innings from Carlos Martinez, who gave up the lone Milwaukee run on the way to his first victory of the season. The rematch is tonight at Busch Stadium as Chase Anderson starts on the hill for the Brewers while the Cards counter with Adam Wainwright.
The Cubs beat the Phillies 8-3 as Javier Baez was a double short of a cycle with four hits and three RBIs and Kyle Schwarber hit a three-run homer. Jerad Eickhoff goes to the mound for the Phils tonight at Wrigley Field against the Cubs’ Jake Arrieta.
The White Sox blanked the Royals 6-0 to support a solid night on the mound from Jose Quintana, who gave up four singles over eight innings. The all-Garcia outfield–Avisail, Leury and Willy–all drove in runs for the Sox. The rematch tonight in Kansas City sends Mike Pelfrey to the bump for the South Siders while the Royals counter with Nathan Karns.
The Blues lost Game 4 of their Stanley Cup Playoff series at Nashville 2-1 as the Predators now lead the series 3-1. Game 5 is Friday in St. Louis.
