Blackhawks fans crashed the Ticketmaster website yesterday in the online crush to get the limited number of free tickets to today’s Blackhawks Stanley Cup celebration at Soldier Field.
The roughly 62-thousand tickets disappeared within minutes to those who could get through.
Almost immediately, ads offering to sell tickets showed up on Craigslist, even though the tickets were free and supposedly non-transferable.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel says wet weather prevented the use of Grant Park where some two-million people gathered to celebrate the 2013 Stanley Cup.
He promises large video screens will be erected in the Soldier Field parking lot to accommodate fans who can’t get inside.
