County’s Most Wanted explained

By Cynthia Grau/WJEZ News

For the past two months, WJEZ has been featuring the Livingston County’s Most Wanted on our Facebook and website.

Sheriff Tony Childress explained the criteria looked at when choosing the most wanted for the county.

“We look at how long the person’s been wanted and how big the bond amount is,” Childress said. “Because the bond amount gives us an idea of how bad the judge wants to see that person. Usually, if there’s a higher bond, there’s more of significance in that person appearing in court for the charges they’re wanted for.”

Childress also said the department is looking into expanding the most wanted to encompass a larger amount of criminals they are asking the public to help find.
