High school sports will be coming at you beginning this Friday evening with a new, but familiar, voice to the area.
Marc Strauss joins us this season. Many will know Strauss from his 32 years as an award-winning sportscaster and news reporter for WEEK-TV, the NBC affiliate out of Peoria.
Strauss will be bringing you the WJEZ Football Game of the Week every Friday evening and noted the fact that the station will be airing games from several different schools throughout Livingston County this season.
“We won’t be just doing Pontiac Indians football this fall. Now, they’ll be a very important part of the schedule and we’ll start off with our opening game – Bloomington Central Catholic at Williamson Field in Pontiac, so that’ll be the opener. And you’ll hear some of the Pontiac games in our Game of the Week broadcasts, but we’ll be moving around to try to get the best matchup of the week to get the best local presence on both sides of the football,” Strauss said.
Strauss began his career in radio in college before heading to television. You can also catch him on AM 1230 WJBC weekdays from 12 to 3.
