Light at the end of the tunnel for education funding

Illinois lawmakers came to an agreement late Thursday night when it comes to education funding.

Senator Jason Barickman talked to Todd WIneburner Friday morning, and said he believes there will be votes taking place today in Springfield. The agreement was reached Thursday, but there are details related to the broad agreement, including mandate relief, which will be hammered out between parties today.

“As soon as Monday, we may start seeing votes in the Illinois House, taking votes on these issues and taking votes in the Senate shortly thereafter. The bottom line being, clearly we’ve got a deal, we need to brief our members on it, but this deal is going to be, I’m optimistic, something that’s good for our schools around the state, including those in Central Illinois,” Barickman said.
