The Pontiac Police Department is celebrating 25 years of service with one of its valued officers.
Corporal Jeff Muir marked his anniversary July 1. A lifelong resident of Livingston County, Muir began his career in law enforcement at the county jail. He has worked his way through the ranks at the department as patrolman, detective and was promoted to Patrol Corporal in 2002.
Chief Jim Woolford praised the corporal and said he can always be relied on for helping out whenever he’s needed to fulfill their mission. Woolford also said Muir is a senior leader at the department and a valuable mentor to new and younger officers.
