The Cleveland Indians have set an American League record with their 21st straight win, a 5-3 victory over the Tigers. The Indians broke the old AL mark held by the 2002 Oakland Athletics and tied the big league record set by the 1935 Cubs.
Schaumburg has taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the Frontier League championship series with a 3-2 win over the Florence Freedom. The Boomers recorded the league’s best record and can wrap up their third title when the series shifts to suburban Cincinnati tomorrow and Saturday if necessary.
