The baseball regular season is over. The Cubs rested their regulars in a 3-1 loss to the Reds. The Cubs open the National League Division Series on Friday night in Washington.
The White Sox mercifully ended their season with a 3-1 loss to the Indians. The Sox finished with 95 losses.
The Cardinals miss the playoffs for the second straight year and end 2017 with a 6-1 loss to the Brewers.
NFL Sunday included Detroit beating Minnesota 14-7, Carolina beating the Patriots 33-30 on a late field goal, Seattle trouncing the Colts 46-18 on four straight touchdowns and the Dolphins and Jay Cutler shut out 20-0 by the Saints in London. Other winners were the Rams, Bills, Steelers, Bengals, Texans, Jets, Cardinals, Eagles, Buccaneers and Raiders.
The only undefeated team, the Kansas City Chiefs, hosts the Washington Redskins in the Monday night game.
