In the first week of high school football playoffs, WJEZ is bringing you the Prairie Central versus Rochester game right here at 98.9.

Hawks Coach Kirk Brandenburg said, while his team is making its first playoffs appearance in five years, they have a plan for when they meet the defending Class 4A champions.

“I’m just going to tell you we’re going to slow this game down to a snail’s pace. Derek wants to go fast. We’ve coached against Derek before and we’ve had some success against him, and he’s had some success against us. I’m going to try to give him something different on every play to give him something different to look at on defense and we’re trying to scheme our option offense for what they’re doing and what they’re trying to do this week. We’re just going to slow our game down and see what we can do,” Brandenburg said.
