In his seventh year of raising funds for the kids of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Oscar Gorbet of Pontiac will be donating his all-time high of $15,500 Wednesday at 11.
Gorbet has steadily risen in his donations every year to help send kids to camp and said he appreciates all of his donors and sponsors.
“It makes me feel really good because I’m doing something for my community. I retired from the City of Pontiac four years ago. I just had a lot of free time. I went to one of my big sponsors and asked him about it. Dan Rutherford said he’d stand behind me 100 percent. Every year, it’s better and better and better, and I’d like to thank everybody that helps me with this program, because it’s just a really good program to be into,” Gorbet said.
The check presentation will take place at First Financial Bank at the corner of Madison and Mill streets in Pontiac.
