The Bank of Pontiac is partnering with WJEZ for the Holiday Need Closet wish list to help restock the Children’s Advocacy Center.
After a very successful luggage drive, because of all of our amazing listeners, we are looking for new items, from diapers, pillows and pillow cases to band aids, bar soap, laundry detergent and grocery gift cards to send out with children in the foster care system.
Our very own Cat talks about why the station and Bank of Pontiac decided to put this drive together.
“I wanted to cry, to be quite honest, because I was blown away by the fact that these kids were going from home to home with garbage bags. That made me sick. Now, when I find out they need just basic items, it was like ‘No, we have to do this.’ So I went to the Bank of Pontiac and they’re like ‘Absolutely, we are on board with you guys.’ What better time than the holidays? We feel more giving, more generous, and when it comes to kids, they should never feel second class,” Cat said.
Items can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 at Radio Pontiac, located at 315 N. Mill Street. The full list of needed items is available at the station and bank.
