Illinois State men’s basketball coach Dan Muller says he’s had to scale back practice time a bit during the preseason because he has just eight scholarship players available because of injuries. Muller says some of the coaches have had to step in to handle player spots on the floor during drills. The Redbirds will open the season on Nov. 11th at Florida Gulf Coast. They host Lewis University this Sunday in their only exhibition game.

In volleyball tonight, Illinois State will visit Valparaiso. Illinois Wesleyan will play in the CCIW Tournament in Decatur. The Titans take on Carthage in the semifinals.

In the high school super-sectionals, U-High travels to Tinley Park to play the host Titans. Lexington meets Newark in the Class 1A Super-Sectional at Serena.
