The Livingston County Historical Society is holding its annual Ham and Bean Luncheon to benefit the Jones House Saturday from 11 to 1 at the First Lutheran Church on Grove Street in Pontiac.
Member Brenda Thompson said this is the big annual fundraiser they have to help with maintenance of the historic home.
“We’re the ones responsible for the care and maintenance of the house and heat and electricity and anything that needs to be repaired, and in the last few years, we’ve repaired the chimneys, the roof which had been leaking, and the porches. Now that the roof has been fixed, we need to work in the bathroom a little bit, because that caused a little bit of wall issues, so some wall painting and some touch ups in there. We also might need to check on the columns on the porches, now that everything is ready,” Thompson said.
Tickets can be bought from Society members or at the door the day of the event.
