Though the area hasn’t quite experienced severe winter weather yet this season, it never hurts to prepare.
Pontiac Police Major Dan Davis gives some basic rules of the road when it comes to driving in cold, snowy, icy and blustery weather.
“There is always weather related crashes or slick roads that can’t always be scraped totally clean, but the goal by planning for all these is to minimize both the quantity and severity of when these crashes happen. So, basically, we’re just asking every drive to take a little extra time on their daily commute and plan for these inherent risks that are associated with winter driving,” Davis said.
Davis was a guest on a recent community forum, where he has other preparation tips before hitting the road this winter. That is available at wjez.com.
