In high school wrestling, Pontiac picked up its first two wins of the season, downing Herscher 42-31 and Streator 57-17. Prairie Central won its meet with Hoopeston and Herscher. We have high school basketball tomorrow night on WJEZ, as Flanagan-Cornell hosts GCMS at 7.

 

Illinois State jumped out to a 9-0 lead on a trio of threes, but it was all Nevada after that. The Wolf Pack rolled to an 98-68 win in Reno. Phil Fayne led ISU with 15 points. The Redbirds lost Milik Yarbrough to a possible concussion in the first half. The 3-4 Redbirds host Tulsa on Saturday afternoon.

 

The Missouri Valley was won 4 and lost 3 in its challenge with the Mountain West Conference. Indiana State beat Air Force, Northern Iowa downed UNLV, Evansville fell to New Mexico.

 

The Redbird women look to continue their perfect home record tonight as SIU-Edwardsville comes to Redbird Arena.

 

The Redbird volleyball team opens play in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship today in Green Bay. ISU will play IUPUI.

 

ISU softball has released its 2018 schedule. The spring slate begins Feb. 8 at South Florida. The home opener in March 30 against Indiana State.
