The student-run Pontiac Month of Giving at Pontiac Township High School has been going so well, they’ve switched item storage to an empty classroom, and even that room is filling up fast.
Principal Eric Bohm said the items keep coming in and students are amazed at the generosity of the community while they spend time organizing everything.
“We just really appreciate the community’s support and remember, while it’s a Month of Giving at Pontiac Township High School, this is a cultural aspect that we need to change and have empathy for everyone, to support people who are down and continue to look for ways to remember that this is our community and we need to take care of each other,” Bohm said.
This week’s donation items are school supplies, which can be dropped off at the high school at 1100 E. Indiana Avenue in Pontiac. The drive runs through Friday.
