Holiday safety tips from Pontiac Police

While people are getting into the spirit of the holiday season, they still need to watch out for those who want to take advantage of it.

Pontiac Police Major Dan Davis spoke about how to protect your home and belongings from “crimes of opportunity” if you choose to take a holiday vacation away from home.

“Ask your neighbor to keep an eye on your house. Make sure there’s not newspapers and mail piling up. Have it appear as though it’s not an empty house that people may be looking to commit crimes at,” Davis said.

Davis was a guest on a recent community forum, where he talks about other holiday safety tips. That is available at WJEZ.com.
