With what many consider a rough start to 2017 in the state’s schools, Pontiac District 90 is looking to end the year on a high note.
Superintendent Jon Kilgore said they are currently on track to meet their balanced budget, but it will take continued careful following.
“In the end, we did end up meeting our balanced budget last year and we are on target for ours right now this year, as long as everything continues. When you say the word ‘January,’ that’s when we cringe a little bit because that seems to be the beginning of some of the changes of funding, but we’re hopeful right now that it will continue like it did the first semester and if that’s the case and we continue to control our expenses as planned in our budget, we should meet our goal of a balanced budget. Right now, we are on track for that,” Kilgore said.
