The 87th Pontiac Holiday Tournament is headed your way from December 28 through 30, right here in Pontiac, bringing with it some top tiered basketball matchups.
Director Jim Drengwitz was a guest on a recent community forum and spoke about the annual tournament and said this has gotten a lot of attention for many years.
“It should be some outstanding games. It’s one of the top two holiday tournaments in the state of Illinois every year. We’ve gotten very good coverage from the Chicago Sun-Times and the Tribune. So it’s as good a field as any tournament in the state of Illinois. So if you want to watch good high school boys basketball, come and join us for one or two or all three days of the tournament,” Drengwitz said.
There are 26 games each year and season tickets are $39. Those are available at the high school through December 21, and Donnells Printing afterwards. Pontiac will take on top seed Simeon in game seven at 7:30 December 28. For more information and brackets, visit pontiacholidaytournament.com.
