Big news from the Boys and Girls Club

The Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County and of Prairie Central recently made a big announcement.

Board Member Susan Popejoy announced they would be consolidating the two clubs into one and also said it would make the programs more efficient.

“So, the advantages of the program is we’re able to actually increase the number of youth we are able to serve and expand our programs. So, when we have our staff that share the different responsibilities in terms of program implementation, we have a program committee that provides the guidance and direction of it, but the staff together meet as a whole, so instead of one director, we will have two program directors that can talk about the programs, what’s working, what is not working. We’ve started that a little bit, but it will primarily now in January when they come together,” Popejoy said.

She and Interim Director Jodi Martin were guests on a recent Community Forum, where they discuss this consolidation further. That can be found at wjez.com.
