Prosecutor continues to deal with drug dealers

The county’s drug problem is still very present, and on the flip side of the Safe Passage program at all police departments county-wide, Livingston County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak said his department is really working on eliminating the source of the illegal drugs.

Yedinak was a guest on a recent Community Forum, where he talked about how the county is becoming known for coming down hard on dealers.

“My office has taken a much harder stance on drug dealers. We tend to separate the addicts from the dealers in this county with the drug problem we have. We’ve been a lot more focused on catching the dealer and dealing with them and handling them, holding them accountable for what they’ve done or what they are doing in this county. We’ve sent a lot of drug dealers to the Department of Corrections and that’s something that the county is slowly but thankfully getting a reputation for – don’t deal drugs in Livingston County because if you get caught, we’re going to launch you,” Yedinak said.
