As the Pontiac Parks and Recreation Department continues to add programs to its Rec Center, another completely new aspect of the organization is looking to grow.
Director Taylor Baxter said he is looking for people interested in sharing their talent in the arts.
“We’re more than just a fitness center. We’re a whole parks and recreation and cultural arts department, so we’re trying to push towards that cultural arts side that we’ve never really gotten before. So, if there’s anyone out there that’s listening that is a painter or art teacher who likes to do arts and crafts, it doesn’t have to be just for kids. I could see us, in our back classrooms, having paintings for adults, seniors, for families. The possibilities with this are endless,” Baxter said.
Interested teachers are asked to visit Baxter at the Rec Center at 900 North Elm Street.
