Special ‘lunch and a movie’ coming Saturday

The Pontiac Public Library holds “Lunch and a Movie” events monthly, and the gathering Saturday will make it possible for more people to attend.

Director Kristin Holzhauer said there are many kids with tree nut allergies who have to bow out of programs because of their allergies, so she’s making it possible for them to safely attend.

“Typically, or movies are a ‘Lunch and a Movie.’ This time, we’re going to open this up as an allergen-free movie. So, we want to ask that no one bring any outside food to the movie and we will provide an allergen-free snack. We do have some kids that have some tree nut allergies and are susceptible to becoming sick and being in danger and we don’t want to have an event that could cause that problem or them,” Holzhauer said.

Head to the library from 11 to 1 to share popcorn and watch the movie “Moana.”
