The University of Illinois Extension Livingston County is holding a Certified Food Protection manager’s course at the extension office in Pontiac Tuesday.

Nutrition and Wellness Education Director Jenna Smith describes the classes.

“This is for anyone who works in the food industry. The health department requires certain individuals in the food industry to have their certified food protection manager’s certification. This class, we’ll be teaching in Pontiac. It will be held on Tuesday, January 30, and that’s from 9 a.m. to3 p.m. and then you have to come back for the second day, and that’ll be on February 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and that’s going to be at the Livingston County Extension office. So, we’re really excited to bring it to Livingston County and get it out there to help the people in the food industry meet these requirements,” Smith said.
