The Pontiac City Council met Monday evening and discussed the business climate in Pontiac.
Mayor Bob Russell said that years ago, things were different, but the changes that were made over the years are really paying off.
“People were on my case big time years ago, saying they wanted this and that, and I said you don’t get retail until you get traffic. Now we have the traffic and now it’s paying off. The businesses have noticed it and now people are willing to invest money into these buildings that were falling down and that’s a really good sign in this economy. We’re pleased and the new storefronts look really nice,” Russell said.
Russell was a guest on a recent Community Forum, where he details that meeting. That can be found at WJEZ.com.
