As we near Valentine’s Day, many think of their romantic relationships or even look into pursing new ones and sometimes that comes with a lot of questions.
One of those questions is what makes a relationship work? Joe Vaughan, executive director at IHR, gave some dating advice for people with that same question.
“It’s difficult to maintain a relationship for a long period of time if you’re not compatible, but it is possible to have a relationship if you’re both complete polar opposites, I guess. Overall, your likes and dislikes need to match up to a degree, but it’s also important to embrace the differences that you have. I think some people in relationships have trouble doing that. You need to give each other some space, have some different interests and be ok with that, because if not, you can get bored of each other and kind of get sick of each other if you have too many like interests,” Vaughan said.
Vaughan was a guest on a recent Community Forum, where he further discusses relationships. That can be found at WJEZ.com.
