The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association recently announced it will be awarding more than 100 scholarships throughout the state, with one available to a student in Livingston County.
The $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student looking to pursue higher education during the 2018-19 academic year.
Guidelines include no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national origin; applicants must be permanent Illinois residents; the scholarships must be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois; and students must be enrolled as a full time student during the 2018-19 year, excluding the summer session.
Applications are available at the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department at 844 W. Lincoln Street in Pontiac or online at ilsheriff.org. Applications and all documentation must be returned to the department no later than March 15.
