Illinois lost at Indiana 78-68 at Bloomington, Ind. The Illini drop to 2-12 in the Big ten 12-15 overall. The Illini host Nebraska on Sunday.

 

Illinois State went scoreless for the first 6 minutes and never caught up in losing at Bradley 70-58, despite a 25-point night from Milik Yarbrough.  It’s the redbirds first loss to Bradley in five years. The Redbirds and Braves are tied for 4th place in the Missouri Valley.

 

Illinois Wesleyan stifled Millikin 65-56 to maintain a slim lead in the CCIW race. The Titans visit Carthage on Saturday.

 

The Titan woman pulled away in the second half for a 78-54 win over Millikin. It’s the Titans 20th win of the season. Molly McGraw scored 18 for IWU.

Flying Aces goaltender Ryan Snowden made a season-high 45 saves, but two early Lumberjack goals doomed Central Illinois to a 2-1 defeat at Muskegon.

American skier Mikaela Shiffrin has won gold in the women’s giant slalom in her Pyeongchang Olympic debut, using a hard-charging final run to win her second career Olympic gold medal. The 22-year-old American standout was trailing as she heading into the last run, but made up ground by powering through ruts that had developed on the course.
