Heartland reveals first of four presidential finalists

NORMAL – Heartland Community College is introducing the first of four finalists for its presidential search. Melinda Tejada, Vice President of Student Development at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, will be on the Heartland campus on Thursday and Friday.

Tejada has been an administrator at Waubonsee for 30 years. She previously worked in admissions and graduate studies at George Williams College in Downers Grove.

There will be a Community and Alumni open session from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Astroth Community Education Center.

The public will be invited to attend community sessions for each of the finalists. The other three candidates haven’t been revealed. Rob Widmer plans to retire as Heartland president at the end of June.
