OSF HealthCare and the Livingston County Farm Bureau are partnering to bring the community the Ag Health and Safety Fair from 8 to 4 Friday at OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center.
Livingston County Farm Bureau Manager Jody Hughes explained why they’re sponsoring the event.
“With the industry having a lot, whether late nights and early mornings or we’re not eating right, it’s just a very dangerous industry. So, we really try. We want our farmers to avoid any accidents or injuries, but if they can’t – sometimes they’re unavoidable or accidents happen – we want them to be prepared to deal with that situation until the professionals can get there. That’s why we’re trying all of these different screenings or CPR so you can deal with that situation,” Hughes said.
Included in the day will be ag readiness classes, blood pressure checks, health assessments and information, as well as food samples and recipes, winter fitness and more.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the farm bureau at 842-1103.
