Every year, the Livingston County Farm Bureau hosts a Legislative Breakfast for the members and local lawmakers to meet up and learn about what’s happening in government when it comes to agriculture.

Manager Jody Hughes gives the highlights from Friday morning’s breakfast.

“We do our legislative breakfast every year for our leadership through the Farm Bureau, as well, at the county. We invite everyone to come in and sit down with our local legislators. We had a really good turnout this year. We had Senators Sue Rezin and Jason Barickman there, Representatives Tom Bennett and Dan Brady, as well as Congressman Kinzinger’s aid, Patrick Doggett, that’s always great to work with, and locally, our Chairman Bob Young. We had a great turnout and were able to hit on some important issues. We always want to be the voice of agriculture and we try to do that locally, as well as in Springfield and D.C. and we were able to bring up some issues important to our members,” Hughes said.
