Pontiac Community Heart and Soul will have its kickoff Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagle Performing Arts and Conference Center in Pontiac.

Co-chair Marlon Eilts explained what the program is.

“What we are doing is following a template that the Orton Family Foundation has put together, as far as creating a business plan or a long term plan for the City of Pontiac and a lot of that has to do with having community involvement and in input,” Eilts said.

He also explained what will be happening throughout the event.

“For some people that haven’t heard the ‘coffee shop’ introduction or Power Point, we’re going to do a little piece on that just to get everyone on the same page, but after that, really bring the crowd together and say, ‘OK, we’re looking for somebody who can help us communicate the message we have,’ or even after we collect all this data, as far as what’s important to the community members, we need someone to gather that information. Event planning – we’re going to have a lot of events, so if someone is good at event planning, that would be the perfect opportunity to say yes, I’d like to be involved,” Eilts said.

To RSVP, call the Eagle Box Office at 844-1187.
