The Concession Stand gives both kids and parents a new outlet

The Concession Stand opened very quietly in Vermillion Plaza back in January, but word spread quickly about what the business offers.

Owner Meisha Nelson explains exactly what people can find when they visit the Concession Stand.

“The Concession Stand is a candy store. I have an abundance and variety of snacks and beverages and things of that nature. It’s also a kid playground, I would call it. I have games like foosball, basketball, air hockey tables, giant Connect Four. I have a little area for the toddlers to come in and crawl around. So, that’s just what it is. It’s just a fun place. If you don’t want to travel far to have a good time, you can come and see me, play some games and buy some snacks and that’s what I’m doing,” Nelson said.

Nelson also said the original plan of just running a store shortly morphed into a bigger deal.

“It has taken its own turn and now I’m the Party Lady. People reserve the back room and I decorate for the parties and I host them and give parents a chance to enjoy the party without the stress of hosting and cleaning and everything that causes the headaches when you want to throw your kids a good party,” Nelson said.

The Concession Stand is located at 9 Vermillion Plaza. For more information, contact Nelson at 419-2181.
